This
mask is symbolic of ancient ways, when native people gathered (and
hunted) only when it was needed, and took away only what was required
at the time. These ways, as were most all daily events, was done
in a way that was in reverence to the earth, our mother, to whom
we paid continual homage in the sacred rituals which were practiced
not only to enrich our spirit, but all that existed within this
"wholiness" . The interaction done through the spoken
words, and ceremonial rituals, was our way of giving thanks towards
the sacrifices made, in order that we may survive.
